When a group of local college students took a hard look at the safety net that should be in place for the older generation, they were surprised and dismayed by what they found.
In this Life Happens Radio podcast, we welcome these students to the show to bring you their revealing report about long-term care!
Host Lou Pierro was joined by students from the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, along with their professor Al Cardillo, who is the President and CEO of the Home Care Association of New York State.
The students conducted research and discovered gaps in services and cultural attitudes that should be a wake up call to us all, including the labor shortage, low wages, insurance costs, and the strain on government benefits and funding.
Hope, Abimael and Soohyun describe their findings with Lou and Al – and give recommendations. What can the younger generation teach us about changes needed to provide the care you’ll need as you age? Listen to find out!
