Memorial Day Weekend Show with Special Guest Jake Ashby

On this Memorial Day weekend when our country honors servicemembers who have made the ultimate sacrifice, we welcome a former Army Reserves Captain to Life Happens.

New York State Senator Jake Ashby completed combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq and deployed in support of a humanitarian mission in Africa. He now represents the 43rd District including all of Rensselaer County and parts of Washington and Albany Counties. Senator Ashby joins Lou Pierro on Life Happens to reflect on his military service and direct experience with fellow soldiers who put their lives on the line for our freedom. On the show, you’ll also hear about Senator Ashby’s work as the Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs, including his votes to expand counseling, job training and immigration services for veterans and their families.

Plus: we’ll recap the highlights from the May 16th Elder Law Forum, where Senator Ashby spoke about the impact of the state budget to meet the needs of the state’s seniors for health and long-term care.
