It’ll Never Happen To Me

A new study caught our eye this week with unsettling findings: the number of older Americans doing ⁠estate planning⁠ is… declining.

The Center for Retirement Research at Boston College found that the share of people over age 70 who have wills and trusts in place dropped from 70% to 63%. Another study by Caring.com found Americans over age 55 completing a will between 2020 and 2023 declined to 46%.

Procrastination isn’t only a trend for older adults. Frank and Kristen will address the need for people with certain professions to plan.
