New Yorkers face serious challenges in the coming year – what programs and policies do our state lawmakers have planned to support families like yours in 2022? In this Life Happens podcast, get the answers from someone at Ground Zero: Assemblymember John McDonald, who is also a pharmacist and a former Cohoes Mayor.
Assemblymember McDonald represents the 108th District that includes parts of Albany, Rensselaer and Saratoga counties, and he will join host Lou Pierro to share front burner issues including the State’s ongoing Covid response, health care staffing and retention, child care affordability and access, direct care worker support, and the other areas that New York State has struggled with during the pandemic.
McDonald reflects on the State of the State address by Governor Hochul, explaining her call for increased investment in two programs: “The expansion of Doctors Across NY to encourage health care professionals working in underserved areas as well as easing the process for doctors and nurses to call New York home is long overdue. The addition of Nurses Across New York also makes sense as a long overdue measure to address the problem of nursing shortages which has an impact on patient care in our hospitals, nursing homes, and communities,” said McDonald.
