Demystifying Medicaid: Myths & Realities

A family recently came into our law office worried about Dad’s long-term care. “We want to keep Dad at home, but the cost of care is prohibitive, and we were told that he would have to spend everything he has in order to get Medicaid help.”

While this family is compassionate and savvy about seeking legal support for the process, this example demonstrates a common Medicaid myth: most times you don’t have to spend down life savings to qualify for Medicaid.
