Declaring our Independence – the Words of the Founding Fathers Brought to Life

The founding of the United States of America has shaped world history for the past 244 years. The words of Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Benjamin Franklin in the Declaration of Independence conveyed their vision of a nation governed by principles, morals, and shared values, which served as a beacon for those that followed.

Abraham Lincoln believed that “government of the people, by the people, and for the people” was the guarantee of our Republic, but today the vision of our founders faces unprecedented challenges.

On Saturday, July 4th, Town of Colonie Judge Peter Crummey joined Life Happens hosts Lou Pierro and Bob Vandy as they recounted the words of our Founding Fathers, and what they have come to mean today. Judge Crummey also gave a live reading of the Declaration of Independence.
