CDPAP: What’s the Story?

Get the update on big changes coming to the New York Medicaid program that enables disabled and elderly resident to receive long-term care services in their homes. The state Health Department is expected to choose one company to run the “Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program” by October 1: overhauling the current system of more than 600 “fiscal intermediaries.” Then on April 1, 2025 that contractor would begin overseeing the redesigned program.

Join us for Medicaid Monday to understand the implications of the CDPAP overhaul on October 21, as elder law attorneys Louis Pierro and Frank Hemming welcome back Bryan O’Malley to the show. Bryan is the Executive Director of CDPAANYS, the organization that currently supports providers and recipients of these supportive services, statewide.

Refresher: we’ll also cover how CDPAP works, allowing Medicaid recipients to hire their own caregivers and remain in the comfort of home – with costs covered by Medicaid. Sign up today!
